Goals & Achievement: 50K Club

GOAL III: 50k Goal Achieved

My goal that I had set for nearly two years has finally manifested itself!

I work in a sale & marketing company who partners with various associations to create the Industry Buyer’s Guides for over 100 different industries. My particular responsibility is to sell the top global banner positions on the Buyer’s Guides Website to relevant vendors in each industry.

The day that I walked in for my first day at that company, I noticed the coveted $50,000 dollar wall. It is a wall that was lined with the pictures of the top 12 sales people in the company who sold over $50k in a single month.

That very day I made up my mind that I would be on that wall, whatever it took. Obviously to achieve this, I would have to become an above average salesperson.

So, how did I do it?

There is no one thing; however I can share with you a number of the practices that went into making this goal a reality.

· Ongoing Visualization Both Morning & Nights

Although I must admit that it wasn’t necessarily an everyday occurrence, I cannot tell you how many mornings I consistently sat in a quiet place, went into a deep (often not) meditation and began to visualize the achievement of the goal. I pictured the exact sale that took me over the 50k, the great feeling within me, the positive reactions of my peers; and even imagined getting my picture taken to go up on the wall.

I played this movie again and again until it was real to me. I created these movies in my mind, countless times in contemplation and as I lay in bed at night before falling asleep.

· Continual Imagining

Beyond the visualization process in formal meditation sessions, I also continually pictured my picture upon that wall every time I passed it numerous times throughout the day, and accompanying this imagining were the same joyful feelings…

· Cultivating the Feelings of Having Already Achieved It

(Through Prayer, Visualization, and Inner Cultivation)

· Ongoing Forward Motion Through Making Sales Calls

This means that every morning I got into to work and got in front of the right customers, and stayed consistent in making sales calls, and Asking for the sale.

· Training My Mind to Remain Persistent and Optimistic Even When Results Were Not Showing and Horizons Looked Dismal

There were numerous times that were extremely challenging where I would barely make any sales during specific weeks. There were times where I wanted to quit, where I wanted to throw in the towel and move on. But I am glad to say that I stuck with this goal.

· Prayer

Not only did I fervently ask God for this to be answered in the words of my tongue, I also fervently Thanked God In Advance for answering me. This thanks and gratefulness ahead of time, created a very real and joyful feeling within me, as if I had already achieved the goal.

To quote Stuart Wilde “Prayer has to be a feeling to work. You have to feel that the thing you are asking for is feasible and that it already exists in your soul as a reality.”

I set this goal to achieve in 2008. So from February until December I worked diligently to ensure, but was unsuccessful. In 2009, I set the same goal, and I am grateful to say that all of these forces have come together to make this goal a reality.

You don’t ask, you don’t get.

To experience the highest level of happiness and success in your entrepreneurial ventures and life experiences in general, it is of vital importance that you learn to ask for the things that you want.

Ask, Ask, Ask.

Ask your friends.

Ask your prospects.

Ask your clients.

Ask your lover.

Ask your workers.

Ask God.

Ask yourself.

Ask your community.

Ask for what you want and need when you need it.

The worst that can happen is that you hear a no, in which case you move on to the next. However, you may just be surprised at how often the answer will be yes.

One of the best books ever that has tauight me the power of asking is called The Aladdin Factor by the same people form the Chicken Soup for the Soul series. It is really phenomenal what applying this principle in your every day life can do for you in literally every area of life.

Internet Marketing Seminar

A friend of mine has a very successful Internet marketing company. Last year his company pulled in somewhere near 19 million dollars in gross revenue. Apparently, he is very good at what he does.

This weekend they are putting on a 3-day internet marketing seminar, and charging people about $2,000 dollars to attend.

He has invited me to come for free.

Although, I don’t think that having a blog technically makes me an internet marketer, I am considering going anyhow. Who knows, I could learn something tremendous worth millions to myself in the long run, or make a contact that will positivley transform my life forever. In fact, I’m almost sure that I would.

The only problem is that is quite literally taking up THE ENTIRE WEEKEND. I’ve been working all week and looking forward to a chance to relax, however if I attend the event, I’ll be up and at it all weekend, and chances are the next weork week will be here before I know it.

It’s just a choice I’ll have to make. I intend to make it by 8:00PM today. One way or the other we will know by then.

Wealth Networking Goal 2009

I have come to accept that the people that you consistently hang around will affect who you become more greatly than almost any other factor.

This also applies to your income. I have heard it said if you take the average income of the 5 people you hang around the most, you should have a rough estimate of where your income currently is.

For this reason, my intention is to continually associate with people who are playing at a much higher level than me because I know it will inspire me to reach even greater heights, seek greater possibilities, and hold myself accountable to even greater visions. That’s not to mention all the amazing learning, knowledge, and energy osmosis that naturally occurs when hanging around people who live their lives with a positive powerful, loving, wealthy power.

I have set a goal to attend 40 or more wealth networking events throughout 2009. I attended a RE Investment meeting last night, and tonight an Internet Marketers meeting.

I feel good. 2/40 meetings complete.

The Trick to Money is Having Some

One of my favorite authors on wealth, spirituality, and freedom is an author by the name of Stuart Wilde.

Knowing that I needed to get in the sunlight today, I took to a picnic table outside my house and read from “The Trick to Money is Having Some”

Wilde says that “All that is ever needed is what one already has, which is creativity and energy…All you have to do is acknowledge that what you are right now is enough to keep you safe and more than enough to keep you in abundance for the rest of your days, in spite of circumstances. You just need you, comfortable inside yourself.”

How to Attract Vison Supporters

Ever since we were young, we are told in one way or another that the friends we surround ourselves with will have a major effect on our character in the long run. This idea is difficult to accept when you want to see yourself as an island. Though as we mature, and become more receptive we will surely find this principle to be true.

Like attracts like, and whether you agree or not, the people and environment you surround yourself with has a huge impact on the quality of your life experience, and the results you see in your own life. Many of us with a life long commitment to personal development, self-mastery, and contributing to a better world have huge goals and vision for themselves and their surroundings.

There are times when people go through an inner growth, and all their old friends and toys are no longer in line with their vision for life. Like a child no longer interested in carrying around his favorite toy. If you desire health, wealth, and happiness for yourself, and most of the people you surround yourself with are lazy, complaining, couch potatoes–do not expect your results to show up quickly, if at all. To attract and expand a greater capacity for yourself to grow into a healthier, wealthier, happier you, it is imperative that you begin to associate with those who live the same way and are willing to put forth energy to live it.

A Common Trap

The trap many people fall into is that they suddenly become inspired to change their life around, but keep the same environment. In the begining stages, your enviroment is more powerful than any willpower you have. Unproductive habits die hard, especially when they continue to be subconsioully fed by your surroundings. By continuing to be around the people who encourage your unproductive behaviors, you will find it near impossible to break free from you old ways. Believe it or not, there are “friends” who actually get jealous to see you succeeding. There are people, some you have know your whole life, they will tell you they are glad for your successes, though secretly they harbor an envy towards you. Anyone, who is not genuinely happy for you to succeed is not a real friend at all. This sort of unsupportive energy should be cut off and starved immediately, regardless of how long you have known someone. Toxic energy will only slow your development, and once recognized should be eliminated, so new seeds of positive supportive friends and habits can be planted and nurtured.

Yes, that sounds right. But how do I drop friends I’ve known my whole life?

This is a difficult question, and one that I hear a lot. Leaving behind unsupported people you’ve known for many years is one of the most difficult things someone committed to self-mastery is called on to do.

Declining an invitation that does not serve your highest vision for yourself is not rude. Letting a call go to voice mail is not rude. If certain people do not see your potential for development, and have no desire to expand their own horizons, they are only hindering you. The world is better off with you working on yourself, refining your character, and blessing the world with your gifts as a natural by-product.

Somewhere in the human mind their may still be a voice of scarcity, telling you that you will be lonely without friends if you decide to move on. This is because your conditioned mind is trying to protect you, it is uncommon to move on from people whom you have assoociated with your whole life, therefore uncomfortable, therefore dangerous to the limited perspective of the human brain. Your limited mind will always encourage you to walk the old familiar path even if it is one that no longer serves you. It wants you to keep you “safe.” Here comes a time for you to rely on your Higher intuition, your inner guidance. You must trust that the universe will bring you the right people at the right time for you.

The universe abhors a vacuum. By taking certain influences out of your life, it is important that you enter into a zone that will be more supportive of your new purpose. Otherwise, your old habits will attempt to draw you back in like a magnetic field. It is important that you find a way to plant new seeds for positive, healthy, supportive friendships as you remove the old stagnating ones. Find a group or two of like minded people whom you can associate with on a weekly basis; and commit to getting out of the house to meet. Want to be wealthier? Hang out with people who talk live and discuss wealth. Want to enjoy a greater connection with Spirit? Surround yourself with people who are committed to the same. Want to live a healthier lifestyle? Find something to busy yourself with, and stick with it.

Not only will your plans and vision be given a new fresh life and perspective, you will be surprised at the new friendships, relationships, and opportunities that show up in your life.
If you have already set an intention, or a vision for you life–declared it out loud the the universe and yourself, and trust in the great law of life to fulfill it–it will be yours.
